Abstract:
Forming alliances with other actors of the health care system is currently one of the prevailing elements of the French Public Hospitals' (FPH) strategy. This article aims at constructing and testing a model that explains the emergence of these alliances. We establish two major paths explaining the formation of alliances. These paths link the FPH decision-makers' perception of the hospital's environment, the organization's ability regarding adaptation to change, and several dimensions of the strategy.
