Abstract:
The researches on the competitive dynamics are examined in this article from two points of view:the level of analysis and the methodology used. This article shows that the studied researches form a coherent set whose common objective is the explanation of the dynamic nature of the competitive strategies. This whole however requires to be complemented by contributions dealing with strategy as an emergent, adaptive and incremental process and clarifying how the managers build mentally the competition and identify the rivals. The investigated contributions also require to be completed on the methodological level, by qualitative methods in order to understand the holistic, longitudinal and processual nature of competition.
