Abstract:
This article analyses international law, international agreements and EU legislation pertaining to the process of agricultural production on the West Bank and its subsequent export to the European Union (EU). First, we shall analyse the peculiarities of economic relations in the agricultural sector in the context of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, with particular attention to the production of Israeli settlements on the West Bank. Subsequently, the study deals with the conditions governing agricultural production and its export to the European Union. Both processes are marked by the existence of Israeli agricultural settlements on the West Bank as well as by a loose interpretation of the Agreements signed with the European Union. We continue by assessing observance (or otherwise) of international law, bilateral agreements and Community law throughout the production chain in the agricultural sector in Palestine. The study concludes with a number of conclusions.
