FORTALEZA ACADÉMICO DE LAS UNIVERSIDADES PÚBLICAS ESTATALES EN MÉXICO EXPRESADA EN UN RANKING NACIONAL

Abstract: Este artículo reporta un ranking que jerarquiza las 39 universidades públicas estatales en México. Las variables son: número de profesores de tiempo completo, profesores con posgrado, profesores con perfil deseable y miembros del Sistema Nacional de Investigadores. Se integraron cinco grupos de universidades. El primer grupo de alto desempeño, compuesto por una universidad; el segundo, de desempeño adecuado, integra a siete universidades; el tercer grupo lo integran diez universidades, de desempeño medio; el cuarto grupo integrado por 16 universidades y se considera de desempeño irregular; el último son cinco universidades consideradas de desempeño débil. Se analiza cada uno de los grupos.

This paper develops a ranking for the 39 public state universities in Mexico. The variables included are full-time faculty, graduate teachers, teachers with a desirable profile, and members of the National System of Researchers. Five groups of universities were integrated. The first group of high-performance has one university; the second group of adequate performance has seven universities; the third group of regular performance has ten universities; the four is an inefficient group is integrated by sixteen universities; the last one has five weak performance universities.
