Productividad industrial y comercio exterior en la Union Europea

Abstract: Se analiza la evolucion del valor añadido real y de la productividad del trabajo de los sectores industriales de bienes de consumo, bienes intermedios y bienes de equipo en 10 paises de la Union Europea, durante las ultimas decadas del siglo veinte. Se comentan las discrepancias existentes entre la valoracion segun tipos de cambio y paridades de poder de compra, y se efectua una comparacion con USA y Japon. Tambien se analiza la evolucion del empleo de dichos sectores, las exportaciones industriales y de otras variables relacionadas con el comercio exterior.

This article present a comparison of real Value-Added, Employment and Productivity of industrial sectors in 10 UE countries, during the last decades of the 20th century, analysing the evolution of the sectors of Consumption, Intermediate and Equipment goods, having into account the discrepancies between the criteria of exchange rates and purchasing power parities to perform international comparison with the USA and Japan. It also analyses the evolution of employment in those manufacturing sectors, industrial exports and other related variables.
