Inversion Industrial y Empleo en las regiones españolas. 1976-1995

Abstract: En este trabajo presentamos la evolucion del empleo en las comunidades autonomas españolas, analizando las diferencias regionales y teniendo en cuenta el importante papel que la inversion industrial tiene como elemento dinamizador de la produccion y el empleo de los sectores no agrarios, tanto desde el punto de vista de la oferta como de la demanda. Todas las regiones españolas necesitan incrementar la produccion industrial por habitante para poder incrementar la tasa de empleo no agrario, ya que existen importantes relaciones intersectoriales que explican el crecimiento de la construccion y de los servicios en funcion de las rentas generadas en otros sectores como el industrial manufacturero.

In this paper we show the evolution of employment in the Spanish regions, analysing regional gaps having into account the main role that industrial investment has as a stimulating factor of output and employment of non-agrarian sectors, both from the supply and demand sides. All the Spanish regions must increase their industrial output per inhabitant in order to increase their non agrarian employment rates, due to the fact that there are important intersectoral relationships that can explain the growth of the output of the building and services sectors through the income of other sectors as manufacturing.
