Regional and Sectoral Economic Studies, 2008, vol. 8, issue 1, 129-142

We analyze the evolution of hotel tourism in the Spanish regions for the period 2001-2008, by means of overnight stays at hotels. We find that the Spanish regions have shown a positive evolution in this indicator of tourism activity, and we analyze some factors that have impact on this regard accordingly to several econometric models.
