Abstract: The new index of living conditions is a multivariate standard of living index estimated by qualitative principal components and it includes 15 variables of perception that distinguish it from the ILC estimated for Colombia. These new variables enrich the actual discussion about the relevancy of some social programs, because it has wider dimensions than the commonly used for evaluating the living conditions.
