Abstract: Turkish folk dances are not just an event or activity, but a socio-cultural force that plays an important role in bringing cultures together. Therefore, the effect of this power is undeniable in the study of a region, community or area, in the research of origin, geographical structure, climate, culture, belief, clothing and even fabrics. Şalpazarı district of Trabzon province is one of the best examples reflecting this statement with its migration, beliefs and cultural structure. In this sense, it has been important to examine the cultural elements of Şalpazarı district of Trabzon province, the factors affecting the formation of these elements and the folk dance clothes, which are the focus of the research, due to the unknown aspects of the past and the information that is not sufficiently included in the records. The aim of the research is to examine the women's clothing of Şalpazarı (Ağasar) district of Trabzon province, to compile the characteristics and usage areas of the clothes by accessing visual records. In line with the findings obtained in the research, it was seen that Ağasar district was named Şalpazarı after the migration of Çepni and cultural characteristics were integrated with the district. In addition, it was noted that the word “shal†means fabric, and the clothes reflect the Çepnis and cultural values with both motifs and colors. As a result, it was noteworthy that Şalpazarı women's clothes differed according to age, marital status and special occasions, with the elderly using darker colors and the young using more colorful fabrics and objects. As a matter of fact, it has been clearly revealed that migration, age, gender and marital status variables, geographical structure, climatic conditions, cultural characteristics and social values are reflected in clothing. The results of the research are expected to contribute to the field and future generations, and it is expected that this research, which is almost non-existent, will increase.
