Abstract:
Billboards, which are used to promote any message or product in outdoor designs, are one of the most important elements of outdoor advertising. With the development of the advertising sector in the growing and developing world, billboard design has become an effective advertising tool. For this reason, the billboard should be readable from an acceptable distance in parallel with an effective design, updatable and correct use of typography elements in order to show the message it will convey to the target audience. Today, digitalization affects graphic design as it does in many fields such as technology, art, science, music, etc. The innovations caused by digitalization have made it easier to access the desired data with the use of the QR code system. Digital billboards are more prominent among billboard types in terms of ease of use. In the study, digital billboard design and ease of application, usability, and functionality of the QR code coding system are explained. By reviewing the literature, billboard types were examined and digital billboards were defined and it was concluded that QR codes are easy to access in terms of giving the message conveyed on billboards. For these reasons, Digital Billboard design among billboard types is at the forefront in terms of ease of use. In this study, the ease of design and application of Digital Billboard is explained through the use of QR Code coding system on Digital Billboard. In this respect, the research is important in terms of showing how digital billboards will be used more widely in the future.
