Abstract: This research aims to examine the educational and artistic development of violin études and caprices from the 18th century to the present. In violin pedagogy, études play a significant role in enhancing both the technical skills and artistic expression of performers. The works of prominent composers such as F. Benda, F. Fiorillo, R. Kreutzer, and N. Paganini are considered foundational elements of modern violin education in this context. The study seeks to shed light on the rational use of pedagogical approaches by understanding the dynamics of these works within the historical process. The importance of this research lies in demonstrating how the systematic use of études in the development of both technical and artistic skills can enhance students' performance abilities. Études should not only be regarded as technical exercises but also as tools for musical expression, and attention should be paid to musical phrasing during practice. This approach not only strengthens students' technical development but also supports their musical thinking abilities. The study is based on a qualitative research model, focusing on the examination of historical sources and violin methods. During the data collection process, literature on violin education and performance practices was reviewed. In this regard, the pedagogical use of études is evaluated in relation to musical performance practice. The research provides recommendations on how études can be systematically utilized in violin pedagogy, contributing to modern educational methods. In conclusion, the study emphasizes that études are an indispensable resource in violin pedagogy, both from an educational and artistic perspective.
