Abstract:
This study was conducted to examine museum visits as a cultural recreation activity and to reveal the reasons for coming to U?ak, the thoughts about the museums and the importance of the museums in U?ak visits. Data were gathered by interview method which is one of qualitative data collection methods and analyzed by descriptive analysis technique. With the semi-structured interview form created for this purpose, interviews were held in U?ak with a visit to the museum. The data obtained from interviews were analyzed in four factors. These; U?ak, the reputation of U?ak museums, the likeness of the U?ak museums, the intention to visit again and the museums as a factor of attraction. As a result of the analysis of the obtained data, most of the museum attendants have determined that U?ak has come to U?ak for different purposes, that they have prior knowledge about U?ak museums, that the yare satisfied with the museums, that they can visit U?ak museums again if they have opportunity and that the museums are not very effective in coming to U?ak.
