EFFECTS OF CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) PANDEMIC ON WORLD AND TURKISH ECONOMY

Abstract:
The coronavirus epidemic that emerged in China in late 2019 has adversely affected the lives of people, especially health. With the spread of it to other countries and becoming a global one, the effect of the epidemic showed itself mostly in the economies of the country after health. How and via which channels the coronavirus outbreak has affected the World and Turkish economy and the measures taken by the countries to keep the economy afloat are focused on in the study. In addition, it was concluded that the coronavirus epidemic had a serious destructive effect on some sectors, it was overcome with less damage on some sectors, the economies of the country were negatively affected by different channels and there were significant decreases in growth and employment rates.
