Abstract:
In today's economic conditions, there are unfavorable situations in Turkey and countries around the world. Even small savings that can be obtained from the main sector of the economy such as the construction sector correspond to large costs. When the projects in which BIM is used are analyzed, it is concluded that it has a significant contribution to the project budget. For this reason, in the content of the thesis, the use of BIM in the world countries, the standards and guidelines in the world countries, the status of BIM in Turkey and the projects where it is used are examined. Classical Project Management methods are not sufficient today and the efficiency of the construction sector has started to decrease. Building Information Modeling (BIM, YBM) system has been developed to increase efficiency with the development of technology. Successful results have been achieved with BIM in time, cost, procurement, operation and sustainability issues, especially in project (electrical, mechanical, architectural, static projects) overlaps, where we get low efficiency with classical Project Management methods.
