Abstract:
Managers (1) give necessary orders to employees (2) provide effective communication with employees (3) provide training to employees when necessary and (4) try to motivate employees to realize the activities of enterprises and ensure continuity. All the efforts of managers towards employees are called directing, leading, or executing. Since directing is realized through orders and instructions, it is also the basis of management. Therefore, power, authority, authorization, command, and influence components are needed for the realization of directing. For effective directing, leadership with the ability and willingness to direct is also needed. In addition, effective communication, and strong motivation in both the leader and the employees are needed for the realization of direction. In this study, firstly, the components of power, authority, authorization, command, and influence, which are the basic elements required for direction in enterprises, are explained. Then, the element of leadership is explained with an overview of leadership theories. In the third stage, the theoretical narrative on effective communication was given by focusing on communication this time. Fourth and lastly, the main theories of motivation and motivation theories are presented.
