Abstract: In order for a person to survive, he must take the necessary nutrients ready from nature or obtain them by producing them. This production is also carried out by agriculture. The most important factor required for agriculture is the land suitable for agriculture. It is known that agricultural lands, which are the main place of the activities that human beings carry out throughout life, have a very important role in both individual lives and social life. Considering the increasing world population, the protection of agricultural lands is one of the issues that should be seriously emphasized in terms of ensuring the continuation of human life. For this reason, in this study, which is a research article, it was primarily defined on the basis of the usage areas of agricultural lands, and the current situation of agricultural lands in Turkey was mentioned and the areas covered were examined with numerical data. Laws, legislations and regulations regarding the usage areas of agricultural lands in Turkey were explained in historical order, and due to the gaps and deficiencies made in this context, the non-purpose use cases of agricultural lands were examined, and suggestions were made regarding the measures and regulations necessary for the use and protection of the lands in accordance with their purpose.
