Abstract:
In pediatric clinic, there are certain relationships between child problems which are encountered and family attitudes. Considering child problems, certain issues attract the attention stemming from family characteristics and their raising attitudes. This study is conducted in ?stanbul province through Conners and PARI rating scales with 169 families. As democratic and equalitarian attitude increase, hiperactivity symptoms of the children also increase. There is correlation between hiperactivity scores and income status and between mother education and having sibling. Conduct disorder symptoms of boys are higher than girls; as the education level of family rises, overprotection and strict discipline scores reduce and democratic attitude scores rise. Strict discipline scores are higher in families for unintentioned children than planned children; overprotection, rejection of housewife role and strict discipline sub-dimensions are higher in low income group. Democratic and equalitarian dimensions are higher as income rises; there is significant relationship between number of children family have and mothers? rejection of housewife role scores; ?hiperactivity?, ?attention deficit?, ?oppositional defiance? and ?conduct disorder? scores are significantly lower in children of mothers who describe themselves as ?insightful? in comparison with mothers who do not describe themselves this way.
