Abstract:
This study aims to determine the themes of woman existing in Mugla folk songs. Literature is reviewed and archives, books, articles, symposium statements, publications, dissertations that are related to research topic, are investigated in this descriptive study. The research data is categorized through the use of content analysis and frequency analysis and it is evaluated under two categories, concepts which arouse positive and negative feelings. This study concludes that themes of woman which are mostly found in folk songs are, overpraising of beloved, longing for beloved, considering woman as a sex object, revealing the pangs of love and woman abuse.
