Abstract:
In the twentieth century, at a time when countries had political, social and economic difficulties in the world, ideas and systems were fiercely criticized. II. In this period of World War II, Turkish nationalist and intellectual man Nihal Atsiz wrote open letters to Şükrü Saraçoğlu, the Prime Minister of the period, which aroused excitement by finding a great response in the public opinion. These developments led to the 1944 Turkism and Turanism case. In light of the political debate, this case has led to a dynamic re-update of the idea of Turkish nationalism. In this study, it is aimed to evaluate the background of the idea of Turkish nationalism and the development process, which passed on to our political history as the case of Turkism and Turanism on May 3, 1944, and became a social movement afterwards.
