AN ANALYSIS OF TAXES ON THE INTERNATIONAL TRADE BY THE REGIONS IN THE WORLD ECONOMY

Abstract: The main aim of the study is to investigate whether the difference of taxes on international trade by the regions in the world economy is significant or not. According to the Kruskal-Wallis Test results, it is found that there is a significant difference among the regions for taxes on international trade. According to the Mann-Whitney U Test results for the regions, it is concluded that there is no significant difference among America, Asia and Oceania regions for the taxes on international trade at the significance level of 0.05. On the other hand, there is a significant difference between Africa and America, Asia and Europe regions for the taxes on international trade at the significance level of 0.05. As a result, decreasing taxes on international trade by considering the international competitiveness of the countries and regions supports to increase international trade volume and welfare of the global society.
