Abstract:
Healthcare professionals' empathetic care, treatment and continuing to do so for a long time causes compassion fatigue in employees after a while. Employees who experience compassion fatigue may experience a feeling of burnout, lose their morale and motivation and lose their excitement as a result, they may lose their commitment to the organization. In this study, it was aimed to investigate the effect of compassion fatigue on organizational citizenship behavior in healthcare workers who provide all kinds of care services to orphans, elderly and disadvantaged individuals. Purpose; If compassion fatigue negatively affects organizational citizenship, it is to make the determinations and take the necessary measures. As a result of our study, it was concluded that compassion fatigue has a positive effect on organizational citizenship.
