INVESTIGATION OF PEER BULLYING AND FRIENDLY RELATIONS IN SECONDARY SCHOOL CHILDREN

Abstract: Bullying, a subtype of aggression, is a form of aggression in which one or more students intentionally and continuously annoys weaker students and the student is unable to defend himself. Studies conducted in the last 30 years show that bullying is a serious threat to the healthy development of children and has reached serious proportions in schools. The psychological and sociological effects of bullying on children are not limited to the school years, but continue in the later stages of life, and it is thought that the risk of transition to adulthood is high. Bullying negatively affects both the bully and the students. Students who are bullied; They experience feelings of anxiety, anger, helplessness, depression, dislike of school, decreased academic performance, worthlessness, unhappiness, exclusion and loneliness. Bullying types fall into five categories. These; physical bullying, verbal bullying, social exclusion, spreading rumors and damaging a person's property.
