Abstract: Museums play a crucial role in safeguarding humanity's shared heritage and ensuring its transmission to future generations. In this context, the long-term preservation of museum objects and cultural assets requires a preventive conservation approach. This approach entails proactively identifying potential deterioration factors and implementing appropriate measures to mitigate them. The protection of museums and the preservation of artworks vary significantly across countries. Developed nations, particularly those in the European Union (EU), the United States (US), and Canada, demonstrate a heightened sensitivity towards this issue. This study delves into the conservation practices and perspectives adopted by museums in these countries. The preservation of textile artifacts, one of the most critical categories of museum objects, holds immense importance. These artifacts, ranging from archaeological textiles to ethnographic pieces, costumes, and furniture, serve as invaluable historical documents. However, they are highly susceptible to deterioration due to factors such as decay, pests, humidity, and other external agents. Consequently, specialized techniques and methods have been developed specifically for the preservation of textile artifacts.
