Measures of Research Output: University Departments of Economics in the UK, 1984-8

Geraint Johnes

Economic Journal, 1990, vol. 100, issue 401, 556-60

Abstract: The results of a bibliometric (publications) analysis of the research output of university departments of economics in the United Kingdom are presented. Sensitivity analyses are conducted, which reveal that the league positions achieved by departments are in many cases highly dependent upon the choice of loss function.
