Abstract: Environmental issues are challenging human existence on earth. There is growing consensus that individuals need to change their behaviour and consumption patterns to create a sustainable society. Despite the indispensability of building a sustainable society in Saudi Arabia, only limited empirical examinations have been attempted about the awareness, attitudes and the role of individual attitude towards environment and sustainability. Attempting to fill this gap in literature, the study examined the relationship of Connectedness to nature and Environmental concern with Environmental sustainability. The data collected from 261 respondents was analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling. The results showed that Connectedness to nature and Environmental concern were antecedents of Commitment to environmental sustainability. Demographics did not have any effect on the variables studied. It is expected that the understanding about the various factors related to pro-environmental behaviour would facilitate designing of appropriate agendas and programs for effective dissemination of information about environment issues.
