Abstract:
Advisory organizations represent the component of agricultural knowledge and innovation systems (AKIS) that is charged with the intentional creation and diffusion of knowledge and innovation. Albeit flourishing, research on AKIS has not yet assessed the degree to which these organizations promote agricultural sustainability through their advice. Moreover, despite the vivid scholarly debate on the differences between public and non-public providers of farm advice, we still lack data on the levels to which these two types of organizations engage in sustainability promotion activities.
