Enhancing agroforestry system resilience: Harnessing environmental vulnerability data to map restoration and pave the way for karst desertification control

Jie Xiao, Yiling Yang, Kangning Xiong, Shilian Jiang and Yunting Huang

Agricultural Systems, 2026, vol. 231, issue C

Abstract: Environmental vulnerability, distinct from climatic vulnerability, is significantly shaped by human–environment interactions. Agroforestry systems in karst desertification areas are key components in sustaining crop production, livelihoods, and ecological restoration. However, the feedback mechanisms that influence their vulnerability and resilience remain understudied.
