Abstract:
•Satisfaction with life can be used to estimate social carrying capacity.•Tourism intensity is related with residents' satisfaction with life.•This relationship resembles the shape of an inverted parabola.•Social carrying capacity corresponds to the vertex's abscissa of this parabola.•This estimation method allows for the use of secondary data.
