Abstract:
Indigenous young people are over-represented in the Australian out-of-home care system and constitute around 40% of those transitioning from care. The literature shows care leavers experience poorer outcomes in most life domains. However, little research has focused on comparing the outcomes for Indigenous young people leaving care with their non-Indigenous peers, based on young people’s lived-experience accounts.
