Abstract:
The interlinguistic and intercultural comparability of school satisfaction as a component of subjective well-being (SWB) is analysed using a sample of 11 to 14-year-olds extracted from the Children's Worlds international database, which includes 15 countries (N=17,246). To this end, two multi-item scales and one single-item scale on overall life satisfaction were adopted as indicators of SWB. Six items on satisfaction with different facets of school life were included as subjective indicators of school satisfaction.
