Parental harsh discipline and child emotion regulation: The moderating role of parental warmth in China

Abstract: •The moderating role of parental warmth in the link between harsh discipline and child emotion regulation was examined.•Parental harsh discipline (except for maternal psychological aggression) negatively predicted child emotion regulation.•Paternal warmth aggravated the negative effect of paternal corporal punishment on child emotion regulation.
