Beauty vs. brains: Early labor market outcomes of high school graduates

Abstract: This paper examines the wage returns to attractiveness for young high school graduates. Findings show that wage returns to attractiveness are large relative to ability and beauty and ability are complements at high attractiveness ratings but substitutes at low ratings.
