Scale economies and intra-industry trade

Don Clark

Economics Letters, 2010, vol. 108, issue 2, 190-192

Abstract: This investigation of the relationship between intra-industry trade and scale economies shows industries with low scale economies more frequently have high, rather than low, intra-industry trade shares. Theoretical studies should focus on causes of intra-industry trade other than scale economies.
