The economic implications of a network SIR-Macro model of epidemics

Abstract: We embed social networks in a conventional SIR-Macro framework. The network effect amplifies the negative effects of an epidemic. Greater connectedness at work has stronger recessionary effects. The network average degree can be interpreted as policies such as social distancing.
