Service sector firm death and productivity in urban and rural locations

Abstract: While the positive impact of firm productivity on survival is well documented, limited evidence exists on geographic variations of this relationship and on services industries. We show that in knowledge intensive services, this relationship is more strongly moderated in core urban areas compared to suburban and rural areas.
