An integrated policy approach for sustainable decarbonization pathways of energy system in a city under climate change scenarios

Abstract: An integrated assessment model has been developed to estimate useful energy demand, followed by an optimization model for planning the energy supply. Four scenarios have been developed. The findings of this study highlight the impact of behavioral, climate change, and socio-economic factors on energy demand and supply. Specifically, these factors can lead to significant variations in demand, such as a more than 3.48-fold difference in cooling demand or a 1.75-fold difference in the transportation demand by cars across various scenarios.
