Abstract:
Empirical analysis based on panel data from Chinese A-share listed companies from 2008 to 2023 indicates that a company's green image has a significant positive effect on corporate green innovation. Digital transformation can markedly enhance the level of green innovation within enterprises. Green image serves as a transmission pathway between digital transformation and green innovation performance, meaning that digital transformation further influences corporate green innovation through its impact on green image. Heterogeneity analysis reveals that, compared to state-owned enterprises (SOEs), the effects of green image and digital transformation on green innovation are more pronounced for private-owned enterprises (POEs).
