Green finance, market integration, and regional economic resilience

Finance Research Letters, 2024, vol. 67, issue PA

Abstract: In this study, we test the implications of green finance for regional economic resilience. Based on prefecture-level data of China, we find robust evidence that green finance is positively related to a prefecture's economic resilience. In addition, we find that market integration amplifies the positive relationship between green finance and economic resilience. Overall, our research gains new insights into the consequences of green finance, thus contributing to the literature.
