Abstract:
This research examines the link between environmental regulation and enterprise performance, discovering that environmental regulation negatively affects enterprise performance in the short term while positively affecting it in the long term, with green technology innovation (GTI) acting as an intermediary factor. Moreover, the effects of environmental regulation on enterprise performance vary according to the firms' property rights and geographical locations. This research's findings are confirmed through robustness and endogeneity tests.
