Abstract:
This study investigates the relationship between the opening of a high-speed railroad and family tourism consumption. It empirically finds that the opening of a high-speed railroad can promote family tourism consumption. Specifically, such high-speed railroad opening has varying impacts on the tourism consumption of (1) families with varying income levels, (2) urban and rural families, and (3) families with different education levels.
