Abstract:
This study focuses on homestead system reform in rural China. A regional-level differential panel model is constructed to empirically test the impact of homestead system reform on overall rural prosperity. The findings show that the reform can significantly improve rural common prosperity. Further research shows that this promoting effect is more pronounced in areas with less market development and weaker government support.
