Finance Research Letters, 2024, vol. 70, issue C

Abstract: Against the backdrop of building a strong nation in education, the advantages of digital finance become increasingly prominent, providing motivation for the high-quality development of the education industry. This article utilizes provincial panel data from China covering the period from 2011 to 2022 to construct an index system for high-quality education development and conduct regression estimation. The results indicate that digital finance plays a significant promoting role in the high-quality development of education, with its influence being contingent on the regional economic level. Furthermore, capital misallocation serves as a conduit between the two factors.
