Abstract:
This study uses data from listed companies from 2012 to 2022 to investigate whether corporate social responsibility and governance structure can reduce corporate legal risk. Findings reveal that enterprises’ active fulfillment of social responsibility can reduce the legal risk they faced. Furthermore, a well-established corporate governance structure can help enterprises mitigate legal risk, and enterprise size plays a significant moderating role in the relationship between social responsibility and corporate legal risk. The impact of corporate social responsibility on the legal risk of state-owned and non-state-owned enterprises varies.
