Finance Research Letters, 2025, vol. 74, issue C

Abstract: This study examines the mechanism by which population aging influences corporate green innovation and the role of market competition in moderating this effect. Using a sample of A-share listed companies in China from 2013 to 2022, the research finds that population aging positively promotes corporate green innovation. Furthermore, market competition enhances the positive impact of population aging on corporate green innovation. According to the results of the study, relevant recommendations are proposed to provide theoretical and decision-making support for listed companies and government policy decisions in China.
