Abstract:
This study empirically investigates the effects of the digital economy on China's provincial export resilience, as well as the underlying mechanisms at play from an openness expansion perspective. Results indicate that the digital economy considerably strengthens provincial export resilience, a finding that remains consistent across multiple analyses. In addition, this reinforcement is augmented via deeper integration into global value chains. Nevertheless, geographical disparities emerge, with eastern regions experiencing stronger impacts and western regions lagging, highlighting the importance of fostering balanced development of the digital economy to uniformly strengthen national export resilience.
