Abstract:
Innovation is a core driving force for corporate competitiveness. The research investigates the link between executive gender diversity and intellectual property investment. Based on evidence from Chinese A-share listed companies from 2010 to 2022, we display that executive gender diversity positively influences intellectual property investment. Moreover, we illustrate that information disclosure and internal control quality are two key economic channels behind the relationship we have discovered. The results of this paper have valuable theoretical and practical implications for managers and investors.
