Abstract:
This research employs data from 31 provinces in China covering the period from 2010 to 2022 to analyze the mechanism by which industrial transformation and upgrading influence the urban-rural income gap. The research reveals that industrial transformation and upgrading can significantly narrow the urban-rural income disparity. Meanwhile, the impact of industrial transformation and upgrading on the urban-rural income gap varies across diverse regions. Furthermore, the effect of industrial transformation and upgrading on the urban-rural income disparity is influenced by the threshold effect of digital inclusive finance.
