Abstract:
This article investigates the relationship between cross-regional cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and economic development levels, using data from 31 provinces and cities in China spanning from 2010 to 2022. The results reveal that BRI cross-regional cooperation significantly contributes to improving local economic development. Moreover, the level of financial technology is found to play a positive moderating role in enhancing the relationship between BRI cooperation and regional economic growth. Additionally, the study highlights the presence of spatial spillover effects, suggesting that the economic development induced by BRI cooperation can extend to neighboring provinces and cities, thereby amplifying the overall regional growth.
