Abstract:
Using data from 2010 to 2022 across administrative regions in mainland China, this study investigates the relationship between digital infrastructure development and the urban–rural income gap while focusing on the moderating role of regional financial development. Findings show that improved digital infrastructure significantly helps narrow the income gap between urban and rural residents. Regional financial development serves as a key moderator in this relationship, and its influence varies notably across regions.
