Long-term projections of health care funding, bed capacity and workforce needs in England

Laurie Rachet-Jacquet, Stephen Rocks and Anita Charlesworth

Health Policy, 2023, vol. 132, issue C

Abstract: Changes in population structure and underlying health put a significant strain on health care system resources. In this context, projecting future health care needs can contribute to better health care system planning and resource allocation over the long term. This paper presents a model of future demand and costs of care to estimate long-term funding and resource needs up to 2030/31.
